Galaxy A56

Samsung is developing the Galaxy A56, which promises a significant performance upgrade.

Samsung began working on the Galaxy A56 months ago, but concrete evidence of its existence has only just surfaced through an IMEI database listing. The device appears under the model number SM-A566B/DS, aligning with the Galaxy A55’s model number SM-A556B/DS, confirming the connection between the two models.

What’s notable is that the Galaxy A56 is expected to feature Samsung’s Exynos 1580 chipset, which will deliver a significant performance boost over its predecessor. A Geek bench test from July shows that the Exynos 1580 rivals flagship chipsets from 2021, such as the Snapdragon 888. This level of performance is remarkable for a mid-range SoC, potentially allowing the popular A series to finally overcome its past performance limitations.

It’s worth noting that the Galaxy A55 was officially launched in March, so the A56 may still be a while away from release.
