Xiaomi is reportedly developing a button-less smartphone, expected to launch in the first half of next year. Codenamed Zhuque, its key feature will be the complete absence of physical buttons. The exact replacement for the buttons is unknown, but possibilities include gesture controls, pressure-sensitive edges, or voice commands.
The Zhuque will also feature an under-display selfie camera, potentially improving on previous attempts by other brands. It will be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8+ Gen 4 SoC, which is also slated for the Xiaomi 15S Pro, expected between April and June 2025. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 4 is anticipated to be an enhanced version of the 8 Gen 4, launching this October.
As for Zhuque’s success, only time will tell whether it will make a significant impact or remain a niche product like the Meizu Zero. Remember the Meizu Zero? Exactly.
