Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL phones

The Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL in India, Malaysia, and Singapore lack LTPO displays and Wi-Fi 7.

Update: Google has clarified the specifications for the Pixel 9 series. All Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL models feature LTPO displays, and all Pixel 9 phones support Wi-Fi 7.

However, Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL models sold in India, Malaysia, and Singapore may use Actua Displays instead of LTPO Super Actua Displays found in other regions. Actua and Super Actua relate to display brightness rather than refresh rate, but the discrepancy is notable as the Pixel 8 Pro used an LTPO panel.

The Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL specifications list LTPO OLED displays, but local online stores may inaccurately state “Super Actua Displays.” Google needs to confirm the exact display technology used.

Additionally, Pixel 9 phones sold in India lack Wi-Fi 7 support, unlike those in Malaysia and Singapore. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold has an LTPO inner display but a regular Actua cover display everywhere. The Indian model is listed with “Wi-Fi 7 (802.11ax),” but this appears to be a typo—likely referring to Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) rather than Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be). Given the absence of Wi-Fi 7 in other models, the Fold might not support it either.

In India, Google VPN is not available, and various regional differences exist, such as different 5G bands and FeliCa support in Japan.
